It’s been five years since Apple Music came on the scene, and has since become a major player in the streaming market. Yesterday, Google was able to announce that Apple’s music streaming service has been added to Google Assistant-based speakers and smart screens.
Google Assistant devices such as Nest Audio , Google Home Mini, and third-party JBL or Lenovo third-party speakers now fully support Apple Music.
Control Apple Music with your voice
Previously, Google Assistant speakers and monitors could only support Apple Music when streaming via Bluetooth from Android or iOS devices. But the time is over now that users can just link their Apple Music account via the Google Home app and set it as the default music service.
From there, you can get it to play songs, playlists and more using commands or by asking to play a specific song, artist or album.
Apple Music also works with Google’s feature, where the sound can be played in multiple rooms at the same time. The function will be rolled out for a start in the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany and Japan, and will soon be rolled out in the remaining regions.
