Apple introduces 5G support to iPhone smartphones. What are the benefits of this?

With the launch of the iPhone 12 series smartphones, Apple has joined the group of manufacturers offering mobile devices with 5G connectivity. All debuting models received support for the Internet in the new technology.

Apple was one of the few large smartphone manufacturers that did not offer a model equipped with a 5G modem. This situation has changed today with the launch of the new generation of iPhone smartphones.

All the premiere models from the iPhone 12 family (iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max) were equipped with 5G modems . This will allow you to use the Internet at speeds up to 4 Gb / s. It will also allow you to use multimedia or network games without the need to use Wi-Fi connectivity in order to maintain adequate transmission stability. This is especially important in times when the amount of data transferred is constantly growing – whether due to higher quality textures, new technologies such as AR or even the increasing resolution of photos and videos.

5G will also provide an opportunity to ensure greater privacy and security when using the Internet , as well as more stable operation thanks to lower latency and smooth transmission even in densely populated places. Importantly, Apple declares that the new iPhone will not use the 5G network all the time … but only when it is actually needed to ensure maximum results. Then, when the technology is unnecessary – the phone will use other communication. In this way, the device is to consume less energy and work longer on a single charge.

During the conference, the 5G antennas placed in iPhones were also presented. You can see them in the photo below.
