Details of a possible AMD Ryzen 7 5000G apu have emerged. This desktop processor has eight Zen 3 cores with sixteen threads and an integrated Vega GPU. AMD has not yet officially announced these chips.
Details about the Ryzen 5000G CPU have been published by a Baidu user , who claims to have a sample. It appears to be a Ryzen 7 Pro 5750G variant with eight cores and sixteen threads, also writes Twitter user harukaze5719 , who more often publishes information about unannounced products.
This is because transparent secure memory encryption is supported in the chip bios. AMD also calls this function Memory Guard , which encrypts the system memory. That is a feature that AMD normally reserves for its Pro CPUs.
The chip in question is a so-called engineering sample . Although AMD has not yet publicly announced its Ryzen 5000G CPUs, the company reportedly sent the chips to system builders and OEMs for validation. Such chips are intended for internal use, but various Ryzen 5000G CPUs are now in circulation within China , according to VideoCardz . Ryzen 5000G samples are also offered there on eBay, the tech site writes .
The alleged Ryzen 7 Pro 5750G has been tested with an overclock of 4.8GHz at 1.47V. According to the Baidu user, this overclock is ‘relatively stable’. The user also tested 4.9GHz at 1.50V, although that turned out not to be completely stable.
At 4.8GHz, the CPU achieved a CPU-Z single-core score of 660 points, with a multicore result of 6898. This is comparable to the Ryzen 7 5800X, which also has eight Zen 3 cores with sixteen threads.
The regular clock speed and official turbo frequency of the Ryzen 7 Pro 5750G are not yet known. Generally, release variants have higher clock speeds than engineering samples.
It is not yet clear when AMD will release its alleged Ryzen 5000G APUs. The company has not yet officially announced these chips. It is also not known whether the chips will also be available separately.
AMD initially released its current Zen 2 APIs in the Ryzen 4000G series only for OEMs , for use in pre-built systems. In time, the Ryzen 4000G chips should also be available separately for self-builders.
