Chrome / Edge: 28 dangerous extensions, delete them immediately

3 million users are exposed to attacks as 28 dangerous extensions were found for the Chrome and Edge browsers. The protection company Avast announced today that it found 15 infected extensions in the Google Chrome browser and 13 for the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge .

According to Avast, these extensions can:

  • Redirect user traffic to ads
  • Redirect users’ traffic to phishing websites
  • Collect personal data such as dates of birth, email addresses and active devices
  • Collect browsing history
  • Download further malware on users’ devices

Until Google and Microsoft decide how to deal with the dangerous extensions, Avast suggests disabling them. Also, for each redirect, their creators earn money from the redirect. If you have any of the following extensions in Chrome or Edge, delete them immediately.
